MISSION AND OUTREACH

PURPOSE

Provide needed food assistance to families in the local area.  Many families today cannot afford to purchase basic food items to feed their families.  Many of our seniors, battered women and single parents cannot meet basic food needs for themselves or family.  This is a free food program that will supplement family food requirements.

OBJECTIVE

To reach as many families as possible and provide them with perishable and non-perishable food products at no cost.  We will provide food assistance to approximately one hundred families once a week on first come first serve basis.

OPERATION AND PROCEDURES

This program will operate with volunteers and volunteers in need of required service.

The Pantry will be open the second Saturday of the month and emergency assistance on Sunday.

FINANCIAL PROVIDERS

The program is supported through donations from the Church, its members and the community.

HOURS OF OPERATION

Saturday          11am to 1 pm

Sunday             9:30 to 10:45am (emergency only, please call before coming)

PATRON’S

Individuals must show some type of picture identification and resident address (electric bill, gas bill, etc) in order to receive food boxes.

Individuals must also sign and print their names on the sign in sheet.  This is a requirement for tracking the number of patrons served and budgeting requirements.

Individuals living outside our service area will be directed to the charitable organization in their resident area.

REQUIRED SERVICE

Thank you for choosing to do your community service with Mt Calvary Missionary Baptist Church.

We accept both court-ordered and school required community service from individuals 14 years of age or older.  Volunteers will help unload bulk food items, sort, label, and repack food, stock shelves, perform inventory and help clean the facility after closing.

Once you have completed your service, Mt Calvary will be happy to give you a letter stating the number of hours you completed.  If you have other paper work, please bring it with you.
